  It's almost like the ump's internal clock for when a batter can be challenge is when he decides it's a strike, not when he finishes signaling strike.

  Yeah, they need to make the rule about how long and how it's done more concise. I've seen umps deny a challenge a few times that should have been allowed

  しかもドミンゲスは背が低めの選手だぞ。あの球、入りは肩の高さで、シンカーが膝の遥か下まで落ちてる。グレッグ・マダックス（精密制球で鳴らした名投手）ならこの審判を気に入っただろうな

  Dominguez is also a shorter player and that pitch is clearly at his shoulders and then the sinker drops way below his knees. Greg Maddux would've loved this umpire.

  なんで審判はこんな風にチャレンジを拒否できるんだ？ 5秒も遅れてたなら分かるけど、ストライクってコールした直後だったぞ

  Why are umps allowed to refuse challenges like this? I'd get it if it was like 5 seconds late, but it was pretty much as soon as the ump called it a strike.

  これにまともな説明がついてるの、まだ見たことない。自分が打者だったら、完全に時間内だったんだから、却下されたことをもっと食い下がって抗議してたわ

  I haven't seen a good answer for this and if I were the hitter, I would have questioned the denial longer since it was very much within the time frame.

  Jimenez delayed the call of strike, almost like he wasn't sure what he was going to say. Dominguez looked like he was waiting for the call to see if he needed to challenge. It was dumb.

  I guess the umpire thought the game was out of reach, but that shouldn't matter. A strike is a strike and a ball is a ball no matter the score. The ump should be disciplined in some way, and I'm a Red Sox fan, so no love lost between me and their hitters.

  昔はさ、試合終盤に明らかなボールがストライクって言われると『審判このあとデートでもあんのか！』って言ったもんだよ

  Back in the day we would say, "Ump's got a date!" when an obvious ball was called a strike late in the game.

  もっと最悪なのは、こんな判定どうでもいい場面だってこと。ワールドシリーズ終盤の1球でもプレーオフでもないんだぞ。俺が審判なら、こういう“間違えても大丈夫な今のうち”に自分の苦手なゾーンを学ぼうとスポンジみたいに吸収するわ。審判の人間味は好きだけど、この調子ならもうロボット審判入れちゃえよ

  the worse part is these calls mean nothing, like its not the 10th to last pitch in the world series or a playoff game. If I was an ump I would be a sponge and try to recognize NOW WHEN I CAN MAKE A MISTAKE to learn where my weak eye is for a ball or strike. I love the personality to baseball umps bring but at this rate just bring the robo ump in already.

  It’s one thing to miss a call, everyone is human and you won’t always be perfect. But to go against the rules cause you don’t want to be wrong is what the problem is

  こういう判定があるからロボット審判が求められるんだ。正確さよりエゴ。審判どもは分かってない──こっちは審判に興味なんてないし、審判を見に球場へ来てるやつなんて一人もいないんだよ

  Its calls like this that lead to the demands for robot umpires, ego over accuracy and the umps cannot get it through their heads that we do not care about them and no one is there to watch the ump.

  ボール・ストライクの判定は野球のめちゃくちゃ重要な部分だ。だからこそ1球1球コンピューターに任せるべきだと思う。打者も投手も捕手も監督も、そして何より審判自身のストレスが消える。試合の流れもずっと良くなるしな

  Strike-ball calling is such a significant part of baseball. I think it is imperative that each call is made by the computer. Gets rid of stress for multiple parties - batters, pitchers, catchers, managers, but most importantly the umps. Plus it helps the games flow much better.

  Umps are increasingly getting things wrong, we have the ability to get them right, but we don't use it. Tell me what kind of sense that makes.
