  ベンチ裏の中継だと、エラーのあと山本が本気でムーキーを心配しててさ。何人かの選手が慰めてて、山本は自分の打席を待ちながらムーキーに笑いかけてポンとお尻を叩いたんだ。『大丈夫だよ』って言うみたいに。で、いつも通り翔平が山本にイタズラを仕掛けてた。試合後、列の前で山本だけポツンと（大きく間を空けて）放置しててさ。笑 こいつらほんと好き。

  in one dugout broadcast, Yama was genuinely worried for Mookie after that error. some of the players comforted him, and Yama waited for his turn, smiled at Mookie, and tapped his butt. as if saying, it's okay bro. and as always, Shohei pulled another prank for Yama. left him alone (a huge gap) in front of the line after the game finished. lol, I love these boys.

  ヨシって『これを完璧に達成したらムーキーは一生エラーを悔やむ、でも一本打たれてやれば罪悪感から救ってやれる』っていう発想が頭をよぎるくらい優しい奴な気がする。

  I feel like Yoshi's a sweet enough dude to have that bug in his brain that says 'if I complete this Mookie will regret his error the rest of his life and if I give up a hit I'll spare him the guilt'

  しかもイマキュレート・イニング（1イニングを9球三者三振）も寸前だったのに、ど真ん中に投げたのに打者は振らず、審判がボール判定。要するにMLBで一番運がない男じゃなかったら、3年目で完全試合・ノーヒッター・イマキュレートを揃えてGOATになってたんだよ。

  And also he almost had an immaculate inning but he threw a pitch right down the middle, batter didn't swing, ump called it a ball. So basically if he wasn't the least lucky pitcher in the mlb then he would be the goat, a perfect game, no hitter and immaculate inning in like year 3 of his mlb carrer

  That miss call for immaculate inning was unreal. It was right down the middle. Idk how you miss that. My blind grandma would have called it a strike.

  I was at the game at Camden Yards last year celebrating the anniversary of Ripken's breaking Gehrig's consecutive-games-played record. Yamamoto had a no-hitter going for EIGHT AND TWO-THIRDS INNINGS. Then Jackson Holliday hit a homer and - unbelievably to us fans - Yamamoto WAS REMOVED from the game. ... despite lifelong loyalty to the Orioles, I would have loved to have seen a no-hitter for the first time.

  8回まで完全試合だったんだぞ。去年は9回までノーヒッター。球数効率もいい。そりゃ全部が噛み合う必要はあるけど、こいつはそういうタイプの投手なんだよ。あと俺は思いっきりひいき目だ…ゴー・ドジャース。

  @Tydrix he took a perfect game into the 8th. He had a no hitter in the 9th last year. He is very efficient with his pitches. Yes, everything has to go right for him but he is that type of pitcher. Plus, I am bias AF... Go Dodgers

  野球の神様は去年みたいに、山本の投球の神通力をポストシーズン用に取っておいてるんだよ。レギュラーシーズンではイマキュレートもノーヒッターも取り上げられたけど、ワールドシリーズでは過去の誰よりも支配したからな。

  The baseball God's are saving Yamamoto's pitching grace for the Post-season like last year. He had an immaculate inning and no-hitter taken away from him in the regular season but dominated in the WS like no other pitcher before him.

  15 perfect consecutive innings is still mad impressive, arguably harder to do then a perfect game, still too bad he couldn't break or tie the record

  何度も言われてるけど、完全試合は個人記録というよりチームの達成なんだよな。残念だけど、こればっかりは仕方ない。

  As has been mentioned many times, a perfect game is more of a team achievement than an individual one. Shame, but it is what it is.

  『連続〇〇』系の記録はほぼ全部、好投だけじゃなく多少の運も絡んでる。完全試合の裏で凄い守備が3回あっても誰も気づかないけど、こういうエラーで途切れると一気に目立って記憶に残るんだよな。…時速90マイル超の打球がイレギュラーしたら反応も準備も無理。あのエラーは『大目に見る』わ。

  Almost every "streak"-type record involves not only a great performance but also a measure of luck. We don't notice or comment much when a perfect game required three incredible defensive plays, but it's very noticeable and memorable when one is lost by an error like this. ... A bad hop on dirt at 90+ mph is almost impossible to react to or plan for. I WILL "excuse" that error.

  この件、さらに皮肉な点があってさ。初回、ベッツはモンゴメリーとメイドロスの間を抜けるセンター前のゴロで出塁したんだ。そしてそのメイドロスが、今度はベッツの横を抜けるセンター前のゴロで山本の完全試合を打ち砕いた。野球は与えもするし、奪いもする。

  There's another level of irony about all this: In the first inning Betts reached on a ground ball up the middle that got by Montgomery and Meidroth. Meidroth broke up Yamamoto's perfect game on a ground ball up the middle that got by Betts. Baseball giveth and baseball taketh away.
