  A player who could have played in any era. The fact he came over to MLB at age 27 and played 19 years in the majors and still got to 3000 hits with a career .311 average is just insane. Doesn’t even begin to account for the influence he had in Japan. Truly one of the all time greats.

  Ichiro is one of the greatest hitters baserunners and outfielders a ten time gold glove, and a record 262 hits in a season including 10 straight years with over 200 hits, and he's only the seven player in history with over 3,000 hits and 500 SBs. Ichiro started his MLB career at age 27 and still got over 3,000 hits, imagine if he started at age 20 he would've had over 4,000 hits, Ichiro already has the most hits ever.

  あの信じられない三塁への送球を、俺はコロシアム（オークランド）の球場で生で見たんだ。あの軌道は現実離れしてた…まるでボール自体が推進力を持ってるみたいで、宇宙船みたいだったよ。殿堂入りは当然だ

  I was at the coliseum when he launched that unbelievable throw to 3B. The movement was something unreal, as if the ball had its own propulsion, like a spaceship. Well deserved HoF spot

  Ichiro exudes class and modesty, which is missing in a lot of players nowadays. And, I always loved his turtleneck fit.

  A player no one could dislike. Genuinely the one writer who didn't vote for Ichiro should have his voting powers stripped. He made an entire 30+ career about himself by not making it 100 unanimous . An absolute joke of a human being

  The guy who didn’t vote for him probably compare the data with players start to play in MLB at the age of 19? But that’s still impressive and he is a player with great aura……..ok I don’t know why he didn’t vote for him 😅

  大谷も朗希も、子供の頃の野球の神様はイチローだったってインタビューで言ってる。川崎宗則（あの変なインタビューで有名な人）は、イチローと一緒にプレーするためだけに、かなり安い年俸でマリナーズと契約したんだ。俺は家族でイチローの引退間際の試合を観に行ったんだけど、親父が涙を流すのを見たのは後にも先にもあの時だけだった。だから満票入りじゃなかったのは本気で腹が立つ。マジで無礼だよ

  both shohei and roki have mentioned in interviews that ichiro was their baseball god growing up. munemori kawasaki (the guy known for the weird interviews) signed with the mariners for significantly less money JUST so he play alongside ichiro. my family and I went to one of ichiro's final games before he retired and it was the only time i've ever seen my dad shed a tear. so it really pisses me off that his hof vote wasn't unanimous. really disrespectful

  19歳のとき、初任給で最初に買ったのは、子供の頃からずっと憧れてたイチローモデルのグローブだった。18年経った今も、俺はそのグローブを使い続けてる。イチローはずっと俺のヒーローなんだ！

  When I was 19 years old, the first thing I bought with my first salary was a glove modeled after Ichiro's, which I had admired since I was a child. 18years later, I am still using that glove. Ichiro has always been my hero!

  メジャー1年目を見ただけで、イチローは俺の一番好きな選手になった。日本での彼の最後の試合を見て泣いたよ。彼が引退してから好きな選手は一人もできてないし、これからもできないと思う

  Ichiro was my favorite player after one season in the MLB. I crried watching his last game in Japan. I have not had a favorite player since he retired and I never will.

  ドジャースファンとして育った俺でも、イチローは今でも歴代で一番好きな選手だ。子供の頃はあのバッティングフォームまで真似してたよ

  Even though I grew up a dodgers fan ichiro still is my favorite player of all time. I even mimicked his batting stance as a kid.

  How fortunate I am to be able to watch Ichiro play in my lifetime. One of the greatest players to ever play this game. Thank you, Ichiro!
