  佐藤は去年跳ねて、今年さらに跳ねた。平良の直球は平均96〜97マイルくらいで、100マイルも普通に出る。面白いのは、5フィート8インチ220ポンドの体でそれを投げてるってこと。才木も来るかもしれない。防御率は落ちたけど、あれはMLB仕様に三振とパワーを取りにいった結果に見える。奪三振率はトップクラスだからな。森下は若すぎるし、伊藤はもう全盛期を過ぎてるかもしれない。

  Sato took a huge leap last year and another one this year. Kaima Taira has a fastball that averages around 96-97 I think but can reach 100 regularly, he's also interesting in terms of how he can throw like that cause he's about 5'8 220. Saiki might come over, even though his era went down it seems like that was an attempt to get more strikeouts and power out of his pitches for mlb cause his strikeout percentage is top tier. Morishita is too young and itoh might be past his prime

  Sato is the Harper superfan, and MVP winner overseas. I'd love Sato as he played 3B/OF and say for example we move Harper back to 1B, Sato to RF and have 3B covered by Stott while we sign Arraez to an extension for 2B that would work well. I would buy a Sato jersey if he signs with us.

  If Sato is such a big fan of Harper than the Phillies should go after him really hard. The last Japanese star that was a Harper super fan ended up going to Boston because we didn't even try to sign them which was really stupid.

  Yeah, all of their recent efforts have been them monitoring the Asian market hard right now. Even with some of their new international signings and trying to find another Japanese scout currently. They just hired 2 guys that have a good relationship on the Asian market as well (Matt Slater who's been a consultant to the Orix Buffaloes Baseball Club of the NPB for almost two decades and Nao Masamoto who helped the cubs become a top destination for Japanese players.)

  伊藤は微妙なところだと思う。特に今季が平凡な内容だっただけにな。球種の多さはMLBの球団にとって常に魅力的だが、直球に球速が無いぶん、多くの球団では5番手扱いになるだろう。行き着く先は2つ。西武の髙橋（光成）と同じで来年もNPBにいるか、MLBでそこそこの数年を過ごして最後は日本に戻ってくるか。

  Itoh is a borderline case imo, especially coming off a mediocre season. His deep bag of pitches will always be intriguing to MLB teams, but his lack of velocity on his fastball means he would probably be 5th in the rotation for most teams. This will likely either go the same way as Seibu's Takahashi and he plays in NPB next year or he has a couple of decent years in MLB before finishing his career back in Japan.

  そう、伊藤はもう全盛期の自分ではないし、球質がMLBで通用するとも限らない。第2の今永になる可能性はあるが、いまの年齢だと厳しいだろう。

  Exactly itoh isn't really his prime self anymore and his stuff might not translate well to mlb. He could always be the next shota but at his age now it'd be tough

  俺は今永寄りだと思う。ただ伊藤は球種が10個くらいあるから、どちらとも結構違う。生産性で言えば伊藤は何年も上位の投手であり続けた。菅野は防御率3点台前半から半ばの投手で、MLBに行く前年だけ2点を切った。今永はずっと防御率2点台の後半から前半で、こっちのほうが伊藤に近い。年齢も近いしな。伊藤は29歳だから、あの投げ方を考えれば全盛期を過ぎているはずはない。ただ今季の内容だけが心配なんだ。それでもポスティングされるなら、球団にとって面白い存在だと思う。

  I would say shota, but he's fairly different from both of them cause he has like 10 pitches. But in terms of production he's been one of the better pitchers for years while sugano was a mid to low 3 era kinda guy except the year before his transition to mlb when he had an era under 2. Shota was consistently a high to low 2 era guy which is more similar to itoh. Also they are closer in age. Itoh is 29 so he shouldn't be past his prime yet especially with how he pitches but I'm just worried about his performance this year. But if he gets posted I still think he'd be an interesting player for teams to look to

  俺は菅野を推す。伊藤の投球は、球質と球速の停滞（下手をすれば低下）を、老獪さとコントロールで埋めにいくものだ。NPB最終年の菅野とよく似ている。今永を比較対象にするのは違うと思う。今永は球速こそ目を引かないが、NPBで常に屈指の空振りを奪う投手だった。最終年にはキャリアハイの奪三振率29.2%を記録して、同じ年にセ・リーグの奪三振王も獲っている。

  I'm going with Sugano because Hiromi's pitching profile is about craftiness and location to offset the stagnation, if not regression of his stuff and velo, not unlike Sugano in his last NPB year. I don't view Imanaga as a good comparable because Imanaga has always been among the best bat missers in NPB despite his velo not jumping off the page. He posted a career-high 29.2 K% in his last NPB season and won the CL strikeout title in the same year.

  森下はポスティングされないよ。金額の上限なしで契約するのに必要な6年の出場登録日数に届いてないから、佐々木朗希みたいに雀の涙の契約しかもらえない。

  They wouldn't post morishita, he doesn't have the 6 years of service time to sign for an unrestricted amount, so he would only get a pittance like Roki.

  事実が正確じゃない。FAに必要なのは6年じゃなく9年だ。朗希の契約が安かったのは日本での出場登録日数のせいじゃなく（MLBがそれを気にする理由がどこにある？）、25歳未満だったからだ。だからマイナー契約を結ぶしかなく、そこには上限がある。森下は26歳。ただ日本で4年しか登録されていないから、球団は間違いなくあと2年くらいは手放さない。

  Facts not straight here. Players need 9 years for free agency, not 6. Roki's contract was low not because of his NPB service time (what would MLB care about that?) but because he was under 25 years of age, which meant he had to sign a minor league contract, on which there is a cap. Morishita is 26 years old. But with just 4 years of service in Japan, the team will definitely hang on to him for another 2 years or so before posting him.

  「無制限のFAだ」なんて言ってない。「上限なしの金額で契約する」と言ったんだ。25歳を超えていて、かつ6年の出場登録日数を積んでいる状態より前にポスティングされると、国際契約金のルールが適用される。その条件を超えれば、ポスティングされたうえで球団が出す気のある額を無制限に受け取れる。球団は譲渡金を払えばいいだけだ。さらにその先、9年の出場登録日数で海外FAになれる。俺の言ったことに間違いは無い。

  Didn't say he was an unrestricted free agent. I said to sign for an unrestricted amount. If a player is posted by an npb team before they are above the age of 25 and have accumulated 6 years of service time then they are subject to international signing bonus rules. Beyond that then they can be posted and can be paid as much money as a team is willing, the team just needs to pay the posting fee. Then beyond that a player can be an international free agent with 9 years of service time. Nothing I said was incorrect.

  まあ今のペースを保てば、森下は鈴木誠也クラスの契約は狙えると思う。ただ2023年からのスタートだから、6年に届くのは2028年シーズンの終わり。あと最低2年は日本で楽しめるってことだ。

  Yeah probably if he keeps up the current pace can see him getting something similar to Seiya. But Shota started in 2023 so he wouldn't hit 6 years of service time until the end of the 2028 season. Just enjoy him for at least 2 more years.

  11月中旬にポスティングされて、協定が切れる直前に契約すれば響かないかもしれない。

  It might not if they're posted in mid-November and sign just before the CBA expires.
